Programme description

Decorative and technical products of various materials (metals, alloys, ceramics, glass, etc.) are widely spread all over the world. The development and choice of modern processing technologies are vital tasks. The educational programme trains specialists in the field of Materials Art Processing Technology.

The students are oriented to choose one of the two following specializations – (1) metals and coatings art processing technology, or (2) ceramic materials art processing technology (majolica, terracotta, porcelain, pottery), glass and binding materials processing technology (gypsum, concrete, etc.). The educational programme gives knowledge in the fields of design and art materials science, metal, non-metal, composite materials processing, alternative technologies.

Programme objectives

The graduate will be able to perform the following tasks:

  • produce commercial art products with required characteristics;
  • design metal, ceramic and glass art products;
  • choose materials for art manufactured goods production;
  • develop the production processes for efficient materials processing;
  • determine the physical, chemical, technological, and artistic characteristics of materials;
  • choose production facilitites;
  • provide engineering support, maintenance, diagnostics, service and operation of industrial production.

Graduates professional activity

The professional graduates activity (at industrial enterprises, in business) aims to the development, production and restoration of art products and decorative elements. A graduate will be able to carry out professional activity in industrial enterprises engaged in the production and restoration of exclusive art products using various technologies. Many graduates establish a business for the production of unique art products.

engineers and managers in the field of modern processing technologies. Students of this programme can become elite graduates who are able to promote high-tech knowledge-intensive production and restoration of art products and decorative elements.
