Programme description

Currently, products obtained by the biotechnological method are widely used in the food industry. Modern food biotechnology is an industry of food ingredients - auxiliary technological additives introduced into food products in the process of manufacturing to increase their nutritional properties. The field of application of food additives is expanding, including those obtained with the help of microbial cells: organic acids, enzyme preparations, sweeteners, flavonoids, thickeners, etc. The demand for specialists in this field is growing every year.

The educational programme allows to prepare graduates in the field of modern biotechnology. The training programme provides knowledge in various fields, in particular, in the field of biotechnology, nanotechnology, food chemistry, materials science, resource and energy-saving technologies.

Programme objectives

The graduate will be able to perform the following tasks:

  • to manage the technological processes of existing biotechnological industries;
  • to organize workplaces, their technical equipment, installation of technological equipment;
  • to take an active part in refining and mastering technological processes in the course of preparation for the production of new products;
  • to conduct incoming inspection of raw materials;
  • to use methods of mathematical modeling for optimization of technological processes.

Graduates professional activity

The professional activity of the graduate is aimed at the implementation of modern biotechnology in the food industry. A graduate will be able to carry out professional activities in industrial enterprises and in research organizations engaged in the production and research of food products from plant and animal raw materials.
