Programme description

One of the main tasks the food industry and food engineering faces is to develop highly efficient technological equipment based on advanced technologies which can significantly increase labour productivity, reduce the negative impact on the environment as well as help to save initial raw materials, fuel, and power resources. Specialists able to use such equipment are in demand at leading chemical and food companies around the world.

The educational programme allows to train professionals in machines and apparatuses in food production. The training programme provides knowledge in mechanical engineering, mechanics, power and resource-saving technologies, physics and nanotechnology.

Programme objectives

The graduate will be able to perform the following tasks:

  • complete a preliminary feasibility study of project solutions;
  • organize workplaces with the installation of technological equipment;
  • perform calculation and design of machine-building structure parts and components in accordance with technical specifications and using standard design automation tools;
  • monitor compliance of developed projects and technical documentation with standards, technical conditions and other regulatory documents;
  • perform mathematical modelling of processes, equipment and production facilities using standard packages and computer-aided design and research tools.

Graduates professional activity

The professional activity of the graduates is aimed to organize and perform designing, installation, commissioning, maintenance, operation, diagnostics and repair of technological machines and equipment as well as developing technological processes for parts and units production. The graduate swill be able to carry out professional activities at enterprises and research organizations related to the production of food products (oils, beer, alcohol, full grain processing, sugar, chocolate and sweets, processing of fish, meat and meat food staff).

The educational programme trains:

Design engineers, technologists, research engineers and service engineers. Students enrolled in this program will be able to provide effective functioning of enterprises and to implement high-tech technologies in production.
