Programme description

Organic and petrochemical synthesis is a key branch of chemical technology. It produces raw materials for fine organic synthesis industry, monomers and intermediates for polymers synthesis and refining, solvents, oils, surface active agents, dyes, cosmetic and bioactive agents.

The educational programme trains specialists in the fields of petrochemical and fine organic synthesis, organic chemistry, nanotechnology, materials science, composites, biotechnology. These fields make possible oil refining, petrochemical products, perfumes and explosives production, organic dyes, film and photographic materials development, etc.

Programme objectives

The graduate will be able to perform the following tasks:

  • operate petrochemical and fine organic synthesis technological production processes;
  • conduct new petrochemical and fine organic synthesis products preproduction;
  • perform incoming raw materials control, monitor production discipline;
  • carry out the organization of work locations, technical equipment, layout planning;
  • perform technological processes modeling using application software.

Graduates professional activity

The professional graduate activity (at industrial enterprises, research and development institutions) aims to advanced technologies in fine organic and petrochemical synthesis materials production. The graduate will be able to carry out professional activities at industrial enterprises and in research organizations engaged in the research of processes and equipment operation for products of organic and petrochemical synthesis.

The educational programme trains:

production managers for industrial enterprises of petrochemical and fine organic synthesis industries, research engineers for research and development institutions. Special attention is paid to macroheterocyclic compounds. They are potential organic dyes, catalysts for various processes, liquid-crystals, semiconductors and bioactive materials and materials for nanotechnology.
