Programme description

The modern world around us cannot be imagined without polymer fibres and composite materials! Polymer production volumes are growing today and will undoubtedly grow in the future. A modern plant producing such materials is based on high technologies with the use of automation and robotics. Various types of polymer filaments and composites from them are used in everyday life, military and civil engineering.

The educational programme allows to train highly qualified specialists not only in the field of production and processing of polymer filaments, fibres and composite materials based on them, but also in the field of modern technologies for the production of polymer materials and products based on them.

The programme provides knowledge in various fields, in particular, in the field of polymer compounds chemistry, in the field of chemical fibres and composite materials production, as well as materials science and nanotechnology.

Programme objectives

The graduate will be able to perform the following tasks:

  • effectively manage the technological processes of industrial production of polymer fibres;
  • carry out the production of new polymer products using modern high technology;
  • successfully control the quality of raw materials and products using standard methods;
  • perform mathematical modeling of processes and objects based on application software packages for researches;
  • organize workplaces, their technical equipment, placement of technological equipment.

Graduates professional activity

The professional activity is aimed at implementing modern technologies in the production of polymer fibres and products for various purposes based on them. A graduate will be able to carry out professional activities at industrial enterprises and research organizations involved in the research, production and operation of polymer materials, products, structures, coatings, fibres and composite materials.

The educational programme trains:

highly qualified specialists who will be able to find work at enterprises that are related to polymer chemistry, as well as related industries that use products of polymer synthesis and processing (products, fibres and composite materials).

Students under this programme will be able to become highly qualified graduates able to conduct research and promote high technologies, including nanotechnologies, into production.
